Posting this because I genuinely can't find a clear answer anywhere. Are there any 100 percent free dating apps that are ad-supported? Happy to hear from anyone who's been through the same thing. Profile authenticity is something I care about a lot. Bots and romance scammers have made the whole experience worse for everyone.
  • How many real users are active in a typical week?
  • Is there phone number verification?
  • Can you report fake profiles easily?
Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

Great thread. I've been wondering about this exact thing for months. Give Datescout a shot if you haven't yet — worth a look.

I went through like six different apps before finding one that worked. Took way longer than expected.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Location genuinely makes a huge difference. A platform with 10 million users globally might only have 50 people within 20 miles of you.

Real talk — patience is the biggest factor. None of these platforms deliver overnight. Give Rendate a shot if you haven't yet — worth a look.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of bad advice floating around: Privacy best practices: throwaway email for sign-up, don't link social accounts, and keep location permissions minimal until you know the platform is trustworthy. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
A couple of people in my circle swear by datebound.site though results seem to vary by location.

Good question — let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Location genuinely makes a huge difference. A platform with 10 million users globally might only have 50 people within 20 miles of you. Worth looking at Datebie — it came up in a few threads I read and the consensus was pretty positive.

Honestly same experience here. It's hit or miss depending on where you live. Also seeing flamedate.online mentioned in a few places — might be worth checking depending on your area.

Solid question. The answer really depends on your location and what you're looking for. For what it's worth, Luvdate has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.
