I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to ask. Are there any couples dating sites free for finding a third? Would love to hear from people who've been in the same boat. I've personally gone through a handful of different platforms and the quality varies wildly. Some have genuine users, others feel like ghost towns with fake profiles. Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is knowing what you actually want before you download anything. I've been using Luvdate and it's been solid compared to the others I've tried.

Solid question. The answer really depends on your location and what you're looking for.

Good question — let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: I've tested quite a few options. The mainstream ones — Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Match.com — all have free tiers, but they vary a lot in how usable those tiers actually are.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: The people who do best on dating apps tend to be patient, consistent, and specific about what they're looking for upfront rather than vague. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question
One platform I've actually had decent results with is Flamedate — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.

The mainstream ones — Facebook Dating, Coffee Meets Bagel, MeetMe, Plenty of Fish — all have free tiers, but they vary a lot in how usable those tiers actually are. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
One platform I've actually had decent results with is Datebound — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.
