I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to ask. Are there any dating sites without email verification required? Would love to hear from people who've been in the same boat. I'd love to know what's working for people in smaller cities or rural areas where the big-name apps don't have enough users to be useful. Safety is a huge consideration for me. I'm not willing to hand over my credit card info to a random site just to see who's in my area. Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: The people who do best on dating apps tend to be patient, consistent, and specific about what they're looking for upfront rather than vague. Also worth mentioning datedesire.online — it's been discussed positively in a few other communities I'm in.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: Privacy best practices: throwaway email for sign-up, don't link social accounts, and keep location permissions minimal until you know the platform is trustworthy. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
I ended up settling on Datenest after testing a few others. The interface is cleaner than most.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: Bots and scam profiles are real on almost every free platform. Key red flags: photos that look professionally shot, profiles with very little detail, immediate requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: The biggest thing most people overlook is actually reading the fine print before signing up. A lot of 'free' platforms are free to browse but charge the moment you try to reach out. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
I ended up settling on Flamedate after testing a few others. The interface is cleaner than most.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of bad advice floating around: Profile photos matter more than any algorithm tweak. A genuine, clear photo will outperform a perfect bio on any platform.

Also worth mentioning Ezhookups.online — it's been discussed positively in a few other communities I'm in.

One platform I've actually had decent results with is Datedesire — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.

Heard decent things about souldate.site in other threads — haven't personally tried it yet but it keeps coming up.

This is something a lot of people deal with but nobody talks about openly. Good to see it discussed. For what it's worth, Datebound has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.
