Been lurking for a bit and finally decided to ask. Looking for honest takes, not marketing copy. Are there any free single mom dating sites where the guys are actually supportive? One thing I've noticed is that the user base quality seems to tank once a platform starts pushing hard for monetization. The genuine people leave and the bots and scammers fill the gap.
  • Can you export or delete your data?
  • Is the desktop version usable?
  • Option to hide profile from certain people?
Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things. Thanks.

Honestly same experience here — it takes patience and some trial and error. For what it's worth, Datebie has been my main platform lately — holds up better than most.

Happy to weigh in since I've been through a very similar situation: I've done the rounds on the main ones — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating, Plenty of Fish — and they all have genuine free tiers, but usability varies wildly. Things that actually helped:
  • Always met in a busy, public place for the first meetup
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any trial subscription immediately after signing up
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful

The landscape has shifted a lot in the last couple of years — what worked in 2024 isn't always reliable now. For what it's worth, Souldate has been my main platform lately — holds up better than most.

Real talk: none of these platforms are perfect but some are definitely better than others.

Happy to weigh in since I've been through a very similar situation: Scam patterns I've learned to spot: photos that look like modeling headshots, profiles with very sparse detail, any message that quickly steers to a different app, and requests for money or gift cards. I ended up trying DatingFly after seeing it mentioned a few times. No complaints so far.

Good question. The answer really does vary a lot by location. Datebound is worth a look if you haven't tried it.
