Posting this because I genuinely can't find a clear answer anywhere. Are there any genuine 100 free dating sites left on the internet? Happy to hear from anyone who's been through the same thing. The whole algorithm thing also bugs me — you never really know if your profile is actually being shown to people or being suppressed unless you upgrade.

Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Bots and scam profiles are real on almost every free platform. Key red flags: photos that look professionally shot, profiles with very little detail, immediate requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram. A couple of people in my circle swear by datelink.online though results seem to vary by location.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: The biggest thing most people overlook is actually reading the fine print before signing up. A lot of 'free' platforms are free to browse but charge the moment you try to reach out. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
Worth looking at Rendate — it came up in a few threads I read and the consensus was pretty positive.

Great thread. I've been wondering about this exact thing for months.

I went through like six different apps before finding one that worked. Took way longer than expected.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Bots and scam profiles are real on almost every free platform. Key red flags: photos that look professionally shot, profiles with very little detail, immediate requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
One platform I've actually had decent results with is Datebound — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.

Honestly same experience here. It's hit or miss depending on where you live.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: Bots and scam profiles are real on almost every free platform. Key red flags: photos that look professionally shot, profiles with very little detail, immediate requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram. I ended up settling on Datebie after testing a few others. The interface is cleaner than most.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is knowing what you actually want before you download anything.

Honestly same experience here. It's hit or miss depending on where you live. I've been using Ezhookups and it's been solid compared to the others I've tried.
