Hey everyone, been trying to figure this out for a while. Are there any good dating apps you don t have to pay for to see who liked you? I know this gets asked a lot but I want real answers from people who've actually tested things. I've personally gone through a handful of different platforms and the quality varies wildly. Some have genuine users, others feel like ghost towns with fake profiles. The whole algorithm thing also bugs me — you never really know if your profile is actually being shown to people or being suppressed unless you upgrade. Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

I went through like six different apps before finding one that worked. Took way longer than expected. Also seeing luvdate.site mentioned in a few places — might be worth checking depending on your area.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: I've tested quite a few options. The mainstream ones — Match.com, Tinder, Hinge, Coffee Meets Bagel — all have free tiers, but they vary a lot in how usable those tiers actually are. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
One platform I've actually had decent results with is Datebie — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: The biggest thing most people overlook is actually reading the fine print before signing up. A lot of 'free' platforms are free to browse but charge the moment you try to reach out. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
Heard decent things about flurrydate.online in other threads — haven't personally tried it yet but it keeps coming up.

Honestly same experience here. It's hit or miss depending on where you live.

Solid question. The answer really depends on your location and what you're looking for. Give Turndate a shot if you haven't yet — worth a look.
