Are there any hidden fees when using sexting for free apps?

So I've been wondering about this for a while now and figured this community would have the best insight. Are there any hidden fees when using sexting for free apps? The paywall thing is real — so many platforms lure you in with a free account and then lock everything behind a subscription the moment you try to actually use it. Safety-wise, I try to be pretty careful — never sharing my real name upfront, always meeting in public first, that kind of thing. But I'd love to hear what other people do.
  • Are the profiles mostly real or bot-heavy?
  • How active is the user base in my area?
  • Can I report bad actors easily?
  • What's the privacy policy situation?
Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

Agree with most of what's been said so far. Key is patience and being selective. Ezhookups is worth trying if you haven't already.

Solid question. I'll be watching this thread for more answers. Heard good things about flurrydate.online from some folks in my area too.

Okay so from personal experience, here's the breakdown: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. Match.com, Hinge, Bumble, Coffee Meets Bagel — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
I ended up trying Datewander after the mainstream apps felt too crowded. No complaints so far.

So I've been doing this for a while and here's what I've found: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. Facebook Dating, Coffee Meets Bagel, Match.com, Plenty of Fish — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
Also seen people mention rendate.site in similar threads — haven't tested it myself but it keeps coming up.

Let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. OkCupid, Bumble, Tinder, Plenty of Fish — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
Datescout came up a few times in my research and I can see why — pretty straightforward setup.

This is something I spent a lot of time researching, so let me break it down: Profile setup matters more than most people think. A clear photo and a short but genuine bio will outperform anything elaborate. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time

Happy to share some thoughts since I went through this process last year: Privacy-wise, use a throwaway email for signups. Don't link your social accounts and keep location permissions turned off until you're ready. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
Someone in another thread recommended Souldate and I gave it a shot — it's worth a look honestly.
