Posting this because I genuinely can't find a clear answer anywhere. Are there any no email dating sites that use phone numbers instead? Happy to hear from anyone who's been through the same thing. Profile authenticity is something I care about a lot. Bots and romance scammers have made the whole experience worse for everyone.
  • Does the free tier let you actually message matches?
  • Is there phone number verification?
  • Can you report fake profiles easily?
Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: The biggest thing most people overlook is actually reading the fine print before signing up. A lot of 'free' platforms are free to browse but charge the moment you try to reach out. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
Heard decent things about datebound.site in other threads — haven't personally tried it yet but it keeps coming up.

I went through like six different apps before finding one that worked. Took way longer than expected. For what it's worth, Turndate has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Honestly same experience here. It's hit or miss depending on where you live. Also seeing Ezhookups.online mentioned in a few places — might be worth checking depending on your area.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: I've tested quite a few options. The mainstream ones — Badoo, Hinge, Match.com, Bumble — all have free tiers, but they vary a lot in how usable those tiers actually are. Worth looking at Flamedate — it came up in a few threads I read and the consensus was pretty positive.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of bad advice floating around: Bots and scam profiles are real on almost every free platform. Key red flags: photos that look professionally shot, profiles with very little detail, immediate requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram. A couple of people in my circle swear by datescout.site though results seem to vary by location.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Location genuinely makes a huge difference. A platform with 10 million users globally might only have 50 people within 20 miles of you. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question
One platform I've actually had decent results with is Luvdate — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.

Great thread. I've been wondering about this exact thing for months. Also seeing Ezhookups.online mentioned in a few places — might be worth checking depending on your area.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: Profile photos matter more than any algorithm tweak. A genuine, clear photo will outperform a perfect bio on any platform. I ended up settling on DatingFly after testing a few others. The interface is cleaner than most.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: The biggest thing most people overlook is actually reading the fine print before signing up. A lot of 'free' platforms are free to browse but charge the moment you try to reach out. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere

Good question — let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Profile photos matter more than any algorithm tweak. A genuine, clear photo will outperform a perfect bio on any platform. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money

Someone here mentioned Flamedate a while back and I gave it a shot. No major complaints so far.
