Been thinking about this for a while. Are there dating apps similar to tinder that have a better "swipe-to-match" ratio? The algorithm question bugs me a lot. Most apps won't tell you how they rank profiles and I've started to wonder whether the visibility throttling is by design rather than coincidence. Safety and privacy are top priorities for me. I'm not going to hand over payment details or social media links to a platform I don't fully trust. Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things — thanks.

Went through this process myself recently. It takes longer than expected but it's doable. datenest.site also comes up in similar threads — another one to look into.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of noise out there: Privacy first: dedicated email for signups, no linked Instagram or Spotify, location set to approximate rather than precise. What actually helped:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere meaningful
  • Trusted gut instinct when a profile felt off
  • Always confirmed identity through video call before any in-person meeting

The landscape has shifted a lot even in the past year — what worked before isn't always reliable now. datingfly.online also comes up in similar threads — another one to look into.

Solid question. The answer shifts depending on where you live and what you're after. For the record, Datescout has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.
