Hoping for some genuine input on this one. Are there reputable korean dating sites for people living in the US? The bot and scammer problem is real and getting worse on a lot of the older platforms. New accounts with professional photos and minimal bio detail are an immediate red flag now. Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

Good question. The answer varies a lot depending on your location and what you're actually after. For what it's worth, Souldate has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is being specific about what you want before you even sign up.

Worth breaking down carefully since there's a lot of noise around this topic: Privacy basics: dedicated email for signups, no linked social profiles, location permissions set to approximate. Small steps that make a real difference. One platform that held up well for me is Datedesire — the free tier was genuinely usable and the profiles felt real.

Same experience here. It took longer than I expected but it's definitely doable.

Worth breaking down carefully since there's a lot of noise around this topic: The 'free' tier on most platforms is designed to frustrate rather than satisfy. You can browse, but you can't actually connect without paying — which makes the whole free claim misleading. What actually helped:
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds
  • Read current Reddit threads about any paid platform before spending money
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game

Patience is the thing nobody talks about. None of these apps deliver overnight. Also seen Ezhookups.online come up positively in similar threads.

Spent way too long figuring this out, so hopefully this saves someone the effort: The 'free' tier on most platforms is designed to frustrate rather than satisfy. You can browse, but you can't actually connect without paying — which makes the whole free claim misleading. What actually helped:
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds
  • Always verified via video call before any in-person meetup
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
I tried Luvdate after seeing it come up in a few threads. Better than most I'd tested.
