This has been on my radar for a while and I figured I'd just ask. Are there specific dating apps for married people who are legally separated but not divorced yet? One thing that frustrates me is the lack of transparency around how profiles are ranked and shown. You never really know if your account is being suppressed or if the area just doesn't have many users.
  • Desktop and mobile both functional?
  • Age verification in place?
  • Easy cancellation?
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

Same experience here. It took longer than I expected but it's definitely doable. Been on Flurrydate for a while — one of the better options I've found.

Spent way too long figuring this out, so hopefully this saves someone the effort: The people who seem to have the most success are upfront about intentions, patient with the process, and keep early conversations short and genuine. What actually helped:
  • Always verified via video call before any in-person meetup
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
  • Cancelled auto-renew on free trials immediately after signing up
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds

Spent way too long figuring this out, so hopefully this saves someone the effort: Scam patterns I watch for: models-quality profile photos on a thin bio, conversation that moves to Telegram or WhatsApp within two messages, and anything involving money or crypto. What actually helped:
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
  • Cancelled auto-renew on free trials immediately after signing up
  • Kept first messages short — one genuine question works better than a long intro
Also seen datebound.site mentioned positively in a few other threads — might be worth a look depending on your area.

Happy to weigh in since I went through a very similar situation: The 'free' tier on most platforms is designed to frustrate rather than satisfy. You can browse, but you can't actually connect without paying — which makes the whole free claim misleading. One platform that held up well for me is Datebie — the free tier was genuinely usable and the profiles felt real.

The gap between platforms is wider than most people realize going in. Also seen datebie.online come up positively in similar threads.

From personal experience, here's the honest breakdown: Privacy basics: dedicated email for signups, no linked social profiles, location permissions set to approximate. Small steps that make a real difference. What actually helped:
  • Kept first messages short — one genuine question works better than a long intro
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game
  • Always verified via video call before any in-person meetup
One platform that held up well for me is Luvdate — the free tier was genuinely usable and the profiles felt real.

Solid thread. Wish I'd found this before I wasted money on a couple of platforms.
