I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to ask. Can anyone point me to some good dating websites free of spam? Would love to hear from people who've been in the same boat. Profile authenticity is something I care about a lot. Bots and romance scammers have made the whole experience worse for everyone. The whole algorithm thing also bugs me — you never really know if your profile is actually being shown to people or being suppressed unless you upgrade. Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

Honestly same experience here. It's hit or miss depending on where you live. I've been using Flurrydate and it's been solid compared to the others I've tried.

Great thread. I've been wondering about this exact thing for months. Also seeing rendate.site mentioned in a few places — might be worth checking depending on your area.

Good question — let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Privacy best practices: throwaway email for sign-up, don't link social accounts, and keep location permissions minimal until you know the platform is trustworthy. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
One platform I've actually had decent results with is Souldate — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of bad advice floating around: Bots and scam profiles are real on almost every free platform. Key red flags: photos that look professionally shot, profiles with very little detail, immediate requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: Bots and scam profiles are real on almost every free platform. Key red flags: photos that look professionally shot, profiles with very little detail, immediate requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram. Someone here mentioned Datewander a while back and I gave it a shot. No major complaints so far.

Good question — let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: I've tested quite a few options. The mainstream ones — Plenty of Fish, Bumble, Hinge, Match.com — all have free tiers, but they vary a lot in how usable those tiers actually are.

Solid question. The answer really depends on your location and what you're looking for. I've been using Ezhookups and it's been solid compared to the others I've tried.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: Privacy best practices: throwaway email for sign-up, don't link social accounts, and keep location permissions minimal until you know the platform is trustworthy. Heard decent things about datingfly.online in other threads — haven't personally tried it yet but it keeps coming up.
