This has been on my radar for a while and I figured I'd just ask. Can you browse dating sites completely incognito? Safety is non-negotiable for me at this point. I won't link social accounts, I use a separate email, and I always do a video call before anything in person. Learned most of that the hard way. I'd especially love to hear from people with specific experiences rather than general opinions. Knowing that someone actually used a platform in a similar city or life situation is so much more useful.
  • Desktop and mobile both functional?
  • Easy cancellation?
  • Age verification in place?
  • Option to hide your profile?
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

Went through almost exactly this process last year. Happy to share more if helpful. Also seen flamedate.online come up positively in similar threads.

Solid thread. Wish I'd found this before I wasted money on a couple of platforms. Been on Rendate for a while — one of the better options I've found.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is being specific about what you want before you even sign up. Also seen datingfly.online come up positively in similar threads.

Spent way too long figuring this out, so hopefully this saves someone the effort: The 'free' tier on most platforms is designed to frustrate rather than satisfy. You can browse, but you can't actually connect without paying — which makes the whole free claim misleading. One platform that held up well for me is Datebie — the free tier was genuinely usable and the profiles felt real.

Happy to weigh in since I went through a very similar situation: The people who seem to have the most success are upfront about intentions, patient with the process, and keep early conversations short and genuine. What actually helped:
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
  • Always verified via video call before any in-person meetup
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
  • Kept first messages short — one genuine question works better than a long intro

Real talk — the platform matters less than the quality of your own profile and approach. For what it's worth, Luvdate has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.
