First post here but felt like the right place to ask. Do completely free dating apps actually exist, or is there always a catch? Appreciate any real experience people can share. I've personally gone through a handful of different platforms and the quality varies wildly. Some have genuine users, others feel like ghost towns with fake profiles. Safety is a huge consideration for me. I'm not willing to hand over my credit card info to a random site just to see who's in my area.
  • How many real users are active in a typical week?
  • Does the free tier let you actually message matches?
  • Is there phone number verification?
  • Can you report fake profiles easily?
Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is knowing what you actually want before you download anything.

Honestly same experience here. It's hit or miss depending on where you live.

Good question — let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: The people who do best on dating apps tend to be patient, consistent, and specific about what they're looking for upfront rather than vague. A couple of people in my circle swear by flurrydate.online though results seem to vary by location.

Honestly same experience here. It's hit or miss depending on where you live. For what it's worth, Turndate has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: Bots and scam profiles are real on almost every free platform. Key red flags: photos that look professionally shot, profiles with very little detail, immediate requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram. Also worth mentioning flurrydate.online — it's been discussed positively in a few other communities I'm in.

Solid question. The answer really depends on your location and what you're looking for. Give Datescout a shot if you haven't yet — worth a look.
