So I've been wondering about this for a while now and figured this community would have the best insight. Does friendfinder com still have an active user base in 2026? Privacy is a big concern for me personally. I don't want my info getting sold or my phone blowing up with spam after I sign up somewhere. Anyone had issues with that? Safety-wise, I try to be pretty careful — never sharing my real name upfront, always meeting in public first, that kind of thing. But I'd love to hear what other people do. Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

Okay so from personal experience, here's the breakdown: Scam red flags: photos that look too professional, no response history, immediate requests to move to a third-party app, and obviously fake profiles. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
One platform I actually had decent luck with is Ezhookups — the interface is cleaner than most and the user base felt real.

Happy to share some thoughts since I went through this process last year: I'd say response rate improved significantly when I started keeping openers short and question-based rather than writing paragraphs. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy

So I've been doing this for a while and here's what I've found: Be upfront about what you're looking for. Vague profiles get vague results. I ended up trying Rendate after the mainstream apps felt too crowded. No complaints so far.

Yeah I had the same question a few months back. It gets easier once you know what to look for.

This is something I spent a lot of time researching, so let me break it down: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. Facebook Dating, OkCupid, Coffee Meets Bagel, Plenty of Fish — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. Also seen people mention datebie.online in similar threads — haven't tested it myself but it keeps coming up.

Let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: I'd say response rate improved significantly when I started keeping openers short and question-based rather than writing paragraphs. Some things that actually helped me:

Someone in another thread recommended DatingFly and I gave it a shot — it's worth a look honestly.

Worth mentioning that datescout.site has been talked about positively in a few other forums I've been in.

Wish I had this info when I first started out. Learned most of it the hard way. Personally I've been using Datebound for a while and it's held up better than most.

Agree with most of what's been said so far. Key is patience and being selective.

Flamedate came up a few times in my research and I can see why — pretty straightforward setup.
