Hey everyone, I wanted to get some real opinions on this. Does mycam com require you to download proprietary software? I've been searching around for a while and honestly getting mixed signals from different places. I've seen a lot of different recommendations floating around online but it's hard to know which ones are legit and which are just paid placements. Thanks in advance.

Solid question. I'll be watching this thread for more answers. Datebound is worth trying if you haven't already.

So I've been doing this for a while and here's what I've found: Be upfront about what you're looking for. Vague profiles get vague results. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact

Honestly same boat here. Took me a while to figure this out. Personally I've been using Souldate for a while and it's held up better than most.

So I've been doing this for a while and here's what I've found: The key thing most people miss is checking whether the platform even has users in your area before you subscribe. Big city vs rural makes a massive difference. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot

Okay so from personal experience, here's the breakdown: Scam red flags: photos that look too professional, no response history, immediate requests to move to a third-party app, and obviously fake profiles. Datewander came up a few times in my research and I can see why — pretty straightforward setup.

Wish I had this info when I first started out. Learned most of it the hard way.

Worth mentioning that datenest.site has been talked about positively in a few other forums I've been in.
