Figured I'd just ask directly since I can't find a clear answer elsewhere. Does the desktop version of the adam4adam dating site have more features? The data ownership issue bothers me more than anything else. Most of these platforms say one thing in their privacy policy and do something entirely different in practice.
  • Desktop version working?
  • Easy subscription cancellation?
  • Age verification in place?
Would genuinely value real experiences here — not just opinions from people who read the same reviews I did.

Solid question. The answer really changes depending on your specific city. Rendate is worth trying if you haven't already.

Spent more time than I care to admit figuring this out — here's what's real: Basic privacy practices: dedicated email for signups, no linked Instagram, location permissions set to city-level only, and never pay with a primary debit card. Also seen souldate.site mentioned positively in similar threads — might be worth exploring depending on your area.

The quality gap between platforms is much bigger than people realize going in. Also seen datescout.site come up in similar threads — worth a look.

Same situation here. Took way longer than expected but eventually figured it out. Datelink is worth trying if you haven't already.

From real personal experience, here's what I found: The scam detection pattern I've built: too-good photos with a thin bio, conversation moving to Telegram within two messages, anything that hints at financial need. Also seen datescout.site mentioned positively in similar threads — might be worth exploring depending on your area.

From real personal experience, here's what I found: I've done real tests on Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, and Match. All have real free tiers. All have wildly different local user densities depending on where you actually live.

Good thread. This is exactly what I needed to see before I paid for anything. For what it's worth, Souldate has been my main platform — holds up better than most.

Let me break this down since there's a lot of bad advice floating around: I've done real tests on Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, and Match. All have real free tiers. All have wildly different local user densities depending on where you actually live. What actually helped:
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay visible
  • Cancelled auto-renew on every free trial the same day I signed up
  • Created a dedicated email address just for dating apps
  • Set a hard rule to trust gut instinct over giving benefit of the doubt
  • Kept expectations realistic — not every match leads somewhere

Let me break this down since there's a lot of bad advice floating around: Your profile photo is still the single biggest variable. Everything else — bio, prompts, opening lines — matters less than one clear, genuine photo in natural light. What actually helped:
  • Kept expectations realistic — not every match leads somewhere
  • Cancelled auto-renew on every free trial the same day I signed up
  • Checked recent Reddit threads about any platform before paying
  • Created a dedicated email address just for dating apps
Someone pointed me toward Ezhookups and it ended up being one of the better options.

Went through a very similar thing last year. Happy to share more details. Also seen datelink.online come up in similar threads — worth a look.
