Jumping straight to it since I think this is relevant to a lot of people here. Has anyone here ever used the mate1 dating site? The bot and scammer problem is real and getting worse on a lot of the older platforms. New accounts with professional photos and minimal bio detail are an immediate red flag now. • No paywall on basic messaging
  • Genuine moderation
  • Clear account deletion option
  • Proximity matching that works
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is being specific about what you want before you even sign up. Also seen Ezhookups.online come up positively in similar threads.

Same experience here. It took longer than I expected but it's definitely doable. Been on Luvdate for a while — one of the better options I've found.

Good question. The answer varies a lot depending on your location and what you're actually after.

Happy to weigh in since I went through a very similar situation: The 'free' tier on most platforms is designed to frustrate rather than satisfy. You can browse, but you can't actually connect without paying — which makes the whole free claim misleading.

Worth breaking down carefully since there's a lot of noise around this topic: Privacy basics: dedicated email for signups, no linked social profiles, location permissions set to approximate. Small steps that make a real difference. What actually helped:
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
  • Read current Reddit threads about any paid platform before spending money
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
Flurrydate kept appearing in my research — worth a look.

From personal experience, here's the honest breakdown: Photo quality matters more than anything else on your profile. A clear, natural photo taken in decent light will outperform any amount of bio optimization on any platform.

  • Kept first messages short — one genuine question works better than a long intro
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game

Same experience here. It took longer than I expected but it's definitely doable. For what it's worth, Datedesire has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Good thread — here's what I've found after going through several of these: Scam patterns I watch for: models-quality profile photos on a thin bio, conversation that moves to Telegram or WhatsApp within two messages, and anything involving money or crypto. What actually helped:
  • Always verified via video call before any in-person meetup
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups

From personal experience, here's the honest breakdown: The people who seem to have the most success are upfront about intentions, patient with the process, and keep early conversations short and genuine.

Someone here pointed me toward Datenest and it turned out to be one of the better options.
