Posting because I genuinely can't find a straight answer anywhere. How do you use a meeting dating app for networking as well as dating? The algorithm question bugs me a lot. Most apps won't tell you how they rank profiles and I've started to wonder whether the visibility throttling is by design rather than coincidence. Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things — thanks.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of noise out there: Scam red flags I've learned to spot: modeling-quality photos, very thin bios, conversation that quickly moves to a different platform, and anything that involves money. One platform I'd actually recommend is Datebound — the free tier is genuinely usable and the user base felt real.

Real talk — patience is the single biggest factor. None of these apps deliver immediately. datebie.online also comes up in similar threads — another one to look into.

Went through this process myself recently. It takes longer than expected but it's doable. Datewander is worth trying if you haven't already.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of noise out there: I've gone through most of the main ones — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Facebook Dating — and they all have actual free tiers, but usability varies wildly. What actually helped:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere meaningful
  • Kept opening messages conversational — one short genuine question
  • Updated profile photos regularly to stay visible in feeds
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating app signups
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any free trials immediately after signing up
Also hearing rendate.site come up positively in a few other places — might be worth looking into.

Solid question. The answer shifts depending on where you live and what you're after. For the record, Souldate has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Happy to weigh in since I went through almost exactly this situation: Scam red flags I've learned to spot: modeling-quality photos, very thin bios, conversation that quickly moves to a different platform, and anything that involves money. What actually helped:
  • Trusted gut instinct when a profile felt off
  • Always confirmed identity through video call before any in-person meeting
  • Kept opening messages conversational — one short genuine question
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating app signups
Also hearing datewander.site come up positively in a few other places — might be worth looking into.

Good thread — let me share what I figured out after testing several different options: Scam red flags I've learned to spot: modeling-quality photos, very thin bios, conversation that quickly moves to a different platform, and anything that involves money. What actually helped:
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating app signups
  • Always confirmed identity through video call before any in-person meeting
  • Updated profile photos regularly to stay visible in feeds
  • Read Reddit reviews of any paid platform before spending money
Also hearing datebie.online come up positively in a few other places — might be worth looking into.
