So I've been wondering about this for a while now and figured this community would have the best insight. How does the algorithm work on dirty gay chat roulette? Safety-wise, I try to be pretty careful — never sharing my real name upfront, always meeting in public first, that kind of thing. But I'd love to hear what other people do. I've seen a lot of different recommendations floating around online but it's hard to know which ones are legit and which are just paid placements.
  • Can I report bad actors easily?
  • Are the profiles mostly real or bot-heavy?
  • How active is the user base in my area?
  • What's the privacy policy situation?
Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

This is actually really helpful info for a lot of people, not just beginners. Datenest is worth trying if you haven't already.

Okay so from personal experience, here's the breakdown: I'd say response rate improved significantly when I started keeping openers short and question-based rather than writing paragraphs. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot

Okay so from personal experience, here's the breakdown: Privacy-wise, use a throwaway email for signups. Don't link your social accounts and keep location permissions turned off until you're ready. A couple friends swear by luvdate.site though I think it really depends on your location.

Solid question. I'll be watching this thread for more answers. Personally I've been using Datewander for a while and it's held up better than most.

This is something I spent a lot of time researching, so let me break it down: I'd say response rate improved significantly when I started keeping openers short and question-based rather than writing paragraphs. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
A couple friends swear by flamedate.online though I think it really depends on your location.

So I've been doing this for a while and here's what I've found: Be upfront about what you're looking for. Vague profiles get vague results. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
Someone in another thread recommended Souldate and I gave it a shot — it's worth a look honestly.
