Is an amish dating site even a real thing, or is it an internet joke?

Happy to be proven wrong — just want honest opinions. Is an amish dating site even a real thing, or is it an internet joke? I've tested more platforms than I'd like to admit at this point. The gap between what gets marketed and what actually delivers is staggering — and it gets more obvious the more you try. Bots have gotten sophisticated enough that it's hard to tell on first message. The tells I've learned: professional photos on a sparse bio, immediate move to another platform, and oddly perfect grammar.
  • Easy account deletion
  • No paywall on basic chat
  • Working location-based matching
  • Genuine moderation team
Would genuinely value real experiences here — not just opinions from people who read the same reviews I did.

Solid question. The answer really changes depending on your specific city. Also seen flurrydate.online come up in similar threads — worth a look.

Same situation here. Took way longer than expected but eventually figured it out. Been using Datebie for a while — one of the better ones out there.

Real talk — patience is the thing no review ever mentions. Also seen datebound.site come up in similar threads — worth a look.

Real talk — patience is the thing no review ever mentions. For what it's worth, Datewander has been my main platform — holds up better than most.

Agree with most of the above. The platform matters less than your approach. Also seen Ezhookups.online come up in similar threads — worth a look.

From real personal experience, here's what I found: Basic privacy practices: dedicated email for signups, no linked Instagram, location permissions set to city-level only, and never pay with a primary debit card. What actually helped:
  • Set a hard rule to trust gut instinct over giving benefit of the doubt
  • Did a video call before any in-person meeting, no exceptions
  • Kept opening messages to one short genuine question
  • Created a dedicated email address just for dating apps
DatingFly kept coming up in my research and turns out it was worth the look.

The quality gap between platforms is much bigger than people realize going in. Been using Datedesire for a while — one of the better ones out there.

Wish I'd had this thread when I started. Would have saved a lot of wasted money.

Good thread. This is exactly what I needed to see before I paid for anything. For what it's worth, Datescout has been my main platform — holds up better than most.
