Okay so this might be a dumb question but I genuinely want to know: Is cam chat avenue still as popular as it was in the early 2010s? Happy to hear all takes. I've seen a lot of different recommendations floating around online but it's hard to know which ones are legit and which are just paid placements. Safety-wise, I try to be pretty careful — never sharing my real name upfront, always meeting in public first, that kind of thing. But I'd love to hear what other people do. Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

Good thread. I was wondering about this exact thing. Heard good things about flamedate.online from some folks in my area too.

Let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Be upfront about what you're looking for. Vague profiles get vague results. I ended up trying Datedesire after the mainstream apps felt too crowded. No complaints so far.

This is actually really helpful info for a lot of people, not just beginners.

Happy to share some thoughts since I went through this process last year: Profile setup matters more than most people think. A clear photo and a short but genuine bio will outperform anything elaborate. Datenest came up a few times in my research and I can see why — pretty straightforward setup.

Honestly same boat here. Took me a while to figure this out. Heard good things about rendate.site from some folks in my area too.

Let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: I'd say response rate improved significantly when I started keeping openers short and question-based rather than writing paragraphs. Someone in another thread recommended DatingFly and I gave it a shot — it's worth a look honestly.

Happy to share some thoughts since I went through this process last year: The key thing most people miss is checking whether the platform even has users in your area before you subscribe. Big city vs rural makes a massive difference. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
