Jumping in here because this has been on my mind for a bit. Is srx chat an invite-only platform? Would love to hear from people who've actually tried things out. I've seen a lot of different recommendations floating around online but it's hard to know which ones are legit and which are just paid placements.
  • How active is the user base in my area?
  • Can I report bad actors easily?
  • Are the profiles mostly real or bot-heavy?
  • What's the privacy policy situation?
Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

Honestly same boat here. Took me a while to figure this out. Personally I've been using Datebie for a while and it's held up better than most.

Yeah I had the same question a few months back. It gets easier once you know what to look for.

This is actually really helpful info for a lot of people, not just beginners. Datebound is worth trying if you haven't already.

Happy to share some thoughts since I went through this process last year: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. Facebook Dating, Plenty of Fish, Coffee Meets Bagel, OkCupid — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. Also seen people mention datenest.site in similar threads — haven't tested it myself but it keeps coming up.

Let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Privacy-wise, use a throwaway email for signups. Don't link your social accounts and keep location permissions turned off until you're ready. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
I ended up trying Flamedate after the mainstream apps felt too crowded. No complaints so far.
