Hoping for some genuine input on this one. Is the badoo dating website still a thing, or did everyone move to the app? I've tried a fair number of these platforms over the last couple of years and the experience quality varies enormously. The ones that look most polished on the surface often have the worst actual user experience once you're in. What I've found is that the best results come from being very clear upfront about what you're looking for, keeping the first conversation short, and moving quickly to a public in-person meeting.
  • No paywall on basic messaging
  • Genuine moderation
  • Clear account deletion option
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

The gap between platforms is wider than most people realize going in. Also seen souldate.site come up positively in similar threads.

Solid thread. Wish I'd found this before I wasted money on a couple of platforms. Been on Flamedate for a while — one of the better options I've found.

Good thread — here's what I've found after going through several of these: Privacy basics: dedicated email for signups, no linked social profiles, location permissions set to approximate. Small steps that make a real difference. What actually helped:
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
  • Cancelled auto-renew on free trials immediately after signing up

Good thread — here's what I've found after going through several of these: I've gone through the main options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Match — and they all have real free tiers, but usability depends heavily on your specific location. What actually helped:
  • Always verified via video call before any in-person meetup
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
Also seen datebie.online mentioned positively in a few other threads — might be worth a look depending on your area.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is being specific about what you want before you even sign up.

Solid thread. Wish I'd found this before I wasted money on a couple of platforms. For what it's worth, Ezhookups has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.
