First post but this felt relevant to share. Is the blendr dating app still a good choice for meeting locals? Location matters way more than the reviews mention. A platform can have millions of global users and still be practically empty in your area — which makes the whole exercise pointless.
  • Option to browse without being seen?
  • Desktop version usable?
  • Easy profile deletion?
Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things — thanks.

Spent way too long learning this the hard way, so hopefully it saves you some time: Scam red flags I've learned to spot: modeling-quality photos, very thin bios, conversation that quickly moves to a different platform, and anything that involves money. I tried Datescout after seeing it mentioned a few times and it held up better than most.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of noise out there: Privacy first: dedicated email for signups, no linked Instagram or Spotify, location set to approximate rather than precise.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is knowing what you want before you start. For the record, Turndate has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

From personal experience, here's the actual breakdown: The biggest misconception is that 'free' means usable. On most platforms, the free tier is deliberately frustrating to push you toward paying — it's not really free, it's a teaser.

Real talk — patience is the single biggest factor. None of these apps deliver immediately. Souldate is worth trying if you haven't already.
