Hoping for some genuine input on this one. Is the flirt dating app full of bots, or are there real people on there? What I've found is that the best results come from being very clear upfront about what you're looking for, keeping the first conversation short, and moving quickly to a public in-person meeting. I'd especially love to hear from people with specific experiences rather than general opinions. Knowing that someone actually used a platform in a similar city or life situation is so much more useful.
  • Is moderation active?
  • Is there a real local user base?
  • Does the free tier allow actual messaging?
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

Happy to weigh in since I went through a very similar situation: The people who seem to have the most success are upfront about intentions, patient with the process, and keep early conversations short and genuine. What actually helped:
  • Cancelled auto-renew on free trials immediately after signing up
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
  • Read current Reddit threads about any paid platform before spending money
  • Always verified via video call before any in-person meetup
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds
Someone here pointed me toward Ezhookups and it turned out to be one of the better options.

The gap between platforms is wider than most people realize going in. Also seen luvdate.site come up positively in similar threads.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is being specific about what you want before you even sign up.

Good thread — here's what I've found after going through several of these: I've gone through the main options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Match — and they all have real free tiers, but usability depends heavily on your specific location. I tried Datenest after seeing it come up in a few threads. Better than most I'd tested.

  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
  • Kept first messages short — one genuine question works better than a long intro

Solid thread. Wish I'd found this before I wasted money on a couple of platforms. Flurrydate is worth a try if you haven't already.

Happy to weigh in since I went through a very similar situation: Photo quality matters more than anything else on your profile. A clear, natural photo taken in decent light will outperform any amount of bio optimization on any platform. What actually helped:
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
  • Always verified via video call before any in-person meetup
  • Kept first messages short — one genuine question works better than a long intro
Also seen souldate.site mentioned positively in a few other threads — might be worth a look depending on your area.
