One thing I notice: comparing your results to anyone else's is a losing game — that is roughly where I landed after a lot of trial and error. Is there a mixed dating app specifically for multiracial couples?

Support response time is a decent proxy for how the site is run — small thing, but it adds up.

From my side, checking recent complaints before signing up is five minutes well spent — others here may have had a different experience.

Having tried a few, a bad week is a bad week, not evidence about the platform — that is the bit I would tell anyone signing up today.

Speaking generally, progress is better measured in conversations than in matches — happy to be argued with on that one.

Broadly speaking, a short bio with one real hook outperforms three paragraphs — it took me longer than it should have to work that out.

What actually helped:

  • From the second month on I accepted that not every match was going to lead anywhere, no exceptions
  • Without fail I never used my main debit card on a platform I had just found, however tempting it was to skip
  • It became automatic — I kept the first meeting short, public and easy to leave, every single time
  • Without fail I refused to give out my home address or workplace, every single time
  • It became automatic — I kept my phone number off the profile until we had spoken properly, and it saved me a lot of grief

One platform I'd actually recommend is over on Datelink — the free tier is genuinely usable and the user base felt real. Luvdate (luvdate.site)

Having tried a few, expecting any single conversation to work out is the wrong frame — your mileage may well differ. One thing I notice: nobody's experience generalises, including mine — it sounds obvious written down, but it took a while to land.datebound.site also comes up in similar threads — another one to look into. over on Datebound

Broadly speaking, treating it as a numbers game is the fastest route to burning out — happy to be argued with on that one.

If it helps, treating it as a numbers game is the fastest route to burning out — that has been consistent for me across a few different platforms. For the record, over on Datescout has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most. Ezhookups's free tier

My take: results vary a lot and a quiet fortnight means very little — nobody tells you this at the start. From my side, progress is better measured in conversations than in matches — nobody tells you this at the start.luvdate.site also comes up in similar threads — another one to look into.
