First time posting but this felt like the right place. Is there a specific dating app for herpes positive individuals in the UK? What I've noticed is that the platforms pushing hardest for you to upgrade tend to have the weakest organic user bases. The pressure is a tell. • What does the privacy policy cover?
  • Are there real users nearby?
  • Does the free tier actually let you message matches?
Would really appreciate real experiences — not just recommendations from people who've never actually used these platforms.

Agree with a lot of what's been said already. The key for me was being very specific upfront. Datebie is worth a try if you haven't already.

This is worth unpacking properly — took me a while to sort out: The most successful people I've talked to are specific about what they want, patient about the process, and keep their opening messages short and question-based. What actually made a difference:
  • Set specific, realistic goals rather than treating it like a numbers game
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay active in feeds
  • Read current Reddit threads about any platform before paying for it
  • Trusted my gut when something about a profile felt off
Also hearing luvdate.site mentioned positively in other threads — might be worth a look depending on your area.

Spent too long figuring this out the hard way, so hopefully this saves someone time: The mainstream apps all have usable free tiers — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish — but the quality of that free tier varies wildly platform to platform. What actually made a difference:
  • Always video-called before meeting in person for the first time
  • Kept opening messages short — one genuine question beats a paragraph
  • Turned off auto-renew on any trial the same day I signed up
I tried Datewander after seeing it mentioned a few times. It held up better than most.

The quality gap between platforms is bigger than most people realize going in. Luvdate is worth a try if you haven't already.
