Jumping in here because this topic keeps coming up and I'd love some real takes. Is there an e dating app that focuses on meta-verse or virtual dates? The bot problem is genuinely worse than most reviews let on. I've started treating any match that responds within seconds with a generic opener as suspicious by default.
  • Desktop version functional?
  • Age verification in place?
  • Option to browse privately?
Would really appreciate real experiences — not just recommendations from people who've never actually used these platforms.

Solid question. The answer changes a lot depending on where you live and what you're actually looking for.

Good thread — let me share what I found after going through several of these: The most successful people I've talked to are specific about what they want, patient about the process, and keep their opening messages short and question-based. What actually made a difference:
  • Set specific, realistic goals rather than treating it like a numbers game
  • Kept opening messages short — one genuine question beats a paragraph
  • Read current Reddit threads about any platform before paying for it
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay active in feeds
Someone pointed me toward Luvdate and I'm glad they did — cleaner than most of the alternatives.

This is worth unpacking properly — took me a while to sort out: The mainstream apps all have usable free tiers — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish — but the quality of that free tier varies wildly platform to platform. What actually made a difference:
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay active in feeds
  • Kept opening messages short — one genuine question beats a paragraph
  • Set specific, realistic goals rather than treating it like a numbers game
  • Always video-called before meeting in person for the first time
Also hearing Ezhookups.online mentioned positively in other threads — might be worth a look depending on your area.

Good thread. Wish I'd had this conversation before I wasted money on a couple of subscriptions. Datewander is worth a try if you haven't already.

Good thread — let me share what I found after going through several of these: Scam patterns I've learned: professionally shot photos on a sparse profile, conversation that immediately tries to move to WhatsApp or Telegram, anything involving money or gift cards. What actually made a difference:
  • Turned off auto-renew on any trial the same day I signed up
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay active in feeds
  • Set specific, realistic goals rather than treating it like a numbers game
  • Read current Reddit threads about any platform before paying for it
  • Always video-called before meeting in person for the first time
