Curious what people here actually think: Is there an old lady dating app for younger men who are genuinely interested? The algorithm question bugs me a lot. Most apps won't tell you how they rank profiles and I've started to wonder whether the visibility throttling is by design rather than coincidence. Location matters way more than the reviews mention. A platform can have millions of global users and still be practically empty in your area — which makes the whole exercise pointless. Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things — thanks.

Went through this process myself recently. It takes longer than expected but it's doable. datescout.site also comes up in similar threads — another one to look into.

Solid question. The answer shifts depending on where you live and what you're after. For the record, Souldate has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is knowing what you want before you start.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of noise out there: The people who seem to have the most success are specific about what they want, patient with the process, and keep opening messages short and question-based. What actually helped:
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any free trials immediately after signing up
  • Trusted gut instinct when a profile felt off
  • Read Reddit reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Always confirmed identity through video call before any in-person meeting
One platform I'd actually recommend is Datebie — the free tier is genuinely usable and the user base felt real.

Good thread. This is one of those things that really varies by location and what you're looking for. Datedesire is worth trying if you haven't already.

Good thread — let me share what I figured out after testing several different options: Scam red flags I've learned to spot: modeling-quality photos, very thin bios, conversation that quickly moves to a different platform, and anything that involves money. What actually helped:
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating app signups
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any free trials immediately after signing up
  • Always confirmed identity through video call before any in-person meeting
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere meaningful
Also hearing datewander.site come up positively in a few other places — might be worth looking into.
