Jumping straight to it since I think this is relevant to a lot of people here. What are the best dating sites for gamers to find a "Player 2"? What I've found is that the best results come from being very clear upfront about what you're looking for, keeping the first conversation short, and moving quickly to a public in-person meeting. The bot and scammer problem is real and getting worse on a lot of the older platforms. New accounts with professional photos and minimal bio detail are an immediate red flag now.
  • Does the free tier allow actual messaging?
  • Is moderation active?
  • Is there a real local user base?
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

Went through almost exactly this process last year. Happy to share more if helpful. For what it's worth, Datebound has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Worth breaking down carefully since there's a lot of noise around this topic: Photo quality matters more than anything else on your profile. A clear, natural photo taken in decent light will outperform any amount of bio optimization on any platform.

Solid thread. Wish I'd found this before I wasted money on a couple of platforms. Also seen datebie.online come up positively in similar threads.

Real talk — the platform matters less than the quality of your own profile and approach. Been on Luvdate for a while — one of the better options I've found.

The gap between platforms is wider than most people realize going in.

Spent way too long figuring this out, so hopefully this saves someone the effort: Privacy basics: dedicated email for signups, no linked social profiles, location permissions set to approximate. Small steps that make a real difference. What actually helped:
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds
  • Cancelled auto-renew on free trials immediately after signing up
Someone here pointed me toward Datenest and it turned out to be one of the better options.
