I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to ask. What are the best free dating sites for men to get actual responses? Would love to hear from people who've been in the same boat. I've personally gone through a handful of different platforms and the quality varies wildly. Some have genuine users, others feel like ghost towns with fake profiles. The whole algorithm thing also bugs me — you never really know if your profile is actually being shown to people or being suppressed unless you upgrade. Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

I went through like six different apps before finding one that worked. Took way longer than expected.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is knowing what you actually want before you download anything. I've been using Ezhookups and it's been solid compared to the others I've tried.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of bad advice floating around: The biggest thing most people overlook is actually reading the fine print before signing up. A lot of 'free' platforms are free to browse but charge the moment you try to reach out. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
Heard decent things about rendate.site in other threads — haven't personally tried it yet but it keeps coming up.

Real talk — patience is the biggest factor. None of these platforms deliver overnight.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: The people who do best on dating apps tend to be patient, consistent, and specific about what they're looking for upfront rather than vague. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: Location genuinely makes a huge difference. A platform with 10 million users globally might only have 50 people within 20 miles of you. Someone here mentioned Rendate a while back and I gave it a shot. No major complaints so far.

Solid question. The answer really depends on your location and what you're looking for. Also seeing rendate.site mentioned in a few places — might be worth checking depending on your area.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: The biggest thing most people overlook is actually reading the fine print before signing up. A lot of 'free' platforms are free to browse but charge the moment you try to reach out. Things that actually made a difference for me:

One platform I've actually had decent results with is DatingFly — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.
