First post here but felt like the right place to ask. What are the best online dating sites for seniors who aren't very tech-savvy? Appreciate any real experience people can share. Safety is a huge consideration for me. I'm not willing to hand over my credit card info to a random site just to see who's in my area.
  • How many real users are active in a typical week?
  • Does the free tier let you actually message matches?
  • Can you report fake profiles easily?
Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

Great thread. I've been wondering about this exact thing for months. Also seeing turndate.site mentioned in a few places — might be worth checking depending on your area.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: The people who do best on dating apps tend to be patient, consistent, and specific about what they're looking for upfront rather than vague. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
Worth looking at DatingFly — it came up in a few threads I read and the consensus was pretty positive.

I went through like six different apps before finding one that worked. Took way longer than expected.

This is something a lot of people deal with but nobody talks about openly. Good to see it discussed. I've been using Rendate and it's been solid compared to the others I've tried.

Real talk — patience is the biggest factor. None of these platforms deliver overnight. Also seeing flamedate.online mentioned in a few places — might be worth checking depending on your area.

Good question — let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: I've tested quite a few options. The mainstream ones — Coffee Meets Bagel, OkCupid, MeetMe, Tinder — all have free tiers, but they vary a lot in how usable those tiers actually are. One platform I've actually had decent results with is Datewander — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: I've tested quite a few options. The mainstream ones — Badoo, MeetMe, Coffee Meets Bagel, Facebook Dating — all have free tiers, but they vary a lot in how usable those tiers actually are.
