I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to ask. What are the best plus size dating apps that promote body positivity? Would love to hear from people who've been in the same boat. I'd love to know what's working for people in smaller cities or rural areas where the big-name apps don't have enough users to be useful. Thanks for any real input.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: Location genuinely makes a huge difference. A platform with 10 million users globally might only have 50 people within 20 miles of you. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Turned off automatic renewal on any trial subscriptions immediately
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
One platform I've actually had decent results with is Datescout — the user base felt real and the free tier was actually usable.

Good question — let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: The people who do best on dating apps tend to be patient, consistent, and specific about what they're looking for upfront rather than vague. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
Also worth mentioning datedesire.online — it's been discussed positively in a few other communities I'm in.

Real talk — patience is the biggest factor. None of these platforms deliver overnight. For what it's worth, Datebie has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

I went through like six different apps before finding one that worked. Took way longer than expected.

Good question — let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: The biggest thing most people overlook is actually reading the fine print before signing up. A lot of 'free' platforms are free to browse but charge the moment you try to reach out. Worth looking at Datedesire — it came up in a few threads I read and the consensus was pretty positive.

Okay so I've been doing this for a while now, here's what I've figured out: Privacy best practices: throwaway email for sign-up, don't link social accounts, and keep location permissions minimal until you know the platform is trustworthy. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question
A couple of people in my circle swear by luvdate.site though results seem to vary by location.

Real talk — patience is the biggest factor. None of these platforms deliver overnight. I've been using Ezhookups and it's been solid compared to the others I've tried.
