Not sure if this has been covered before but: Would genuinely appreciate any input. What are the best video call dating sites for long-distance relationships? Safety and privacy are top of mind for me. Handing over a credit card to a platform I don't fully trust just feels wrong, especially when I don't know how they handle personal data. Location matters way more than most reviews mention. A platform with millions of global users might have almost nobody in your actual area, which makes the whole thing pointless.
  • Option to hide profile from certain people?
  • Can you export or delete your data?
  • Is the desktop version usable?
Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things. Thanks.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Privacy tip: use a dedicated email address for dating app signups. Don't link your Instagram or Spotify, and keep location to approximate rather than precise. I ended up trying Datedesire after seeing it mentioned a few times. No complaints so far.

Went through this myself last year. Took longer than expected but it's doable.

Good question. The answer really does vary a lot by location.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Profile photos are still the single biggest factor. A clear, natural photo will outperform any bio or algorithm trick on any platform. Also hearing flurrydate.online mentioned positively in other threads — might be worth a look depending on your location.

Good thread — let me share what I've found after testing a few different options: The biggest thing most people don't realize is that the 'free' tier on most apps is designed specifically to frustrate you into paying. It's not really free — it's a demo with artificial limits.

This is worth unpacking properly because there's a lot of noise around this topic: The biggest thing most people don't realize is that the 'free' tier on most apps is designed specifically to frustrate you into paying. It's not really free — it's a demo with artificial limits. Things that actually helped:
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in the feed
  • Kept opening messages short — one genuine question works better than a paragraph
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful
Datenest came up in my research repeatedly and I can see why — straightforward setup, real people.
