First time posting but this felt like the right place. What are the hottest dating apps right now for Gen Z? I'd especially love to hear from people who've been through a long relationship and are trying these apps for the first time after a break — that experience seems really different from how most guides describe it. Location is the factor nobody talks about enough. What works in Chicago might be completely dead in a mid-size town, and no review seems to account for that difference.
  • Does the free tier actually let you message matches?
  • What does the privacy policy cover?
  • Are there real users nearby?
Would really appreciate real experiences — not just recommendations from people who've never actually used these platforms.

Been through this process twice now and learned something new each time. I've been on DatingFly for a while — one of the better ones I've come across.

Spent too long figuring this out the hard way, so hopefully this saves someone time: For privacy: dedicated email for signups, no linked social accounts, location set to city level rather than exact. These are small things that make a real difference. What actually made a difference:
  • Set up a separate email address specifically for dating apps
  • Trusted my gut when something about a profile felt off
  • Always video-called before meeting in person for the first time
  • Turned off auto-renew on any trial the same day I signed up
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay active in feeds

Spent too long figuring this out the hard way, so hopefully this saves someone time: Profile photos still matter more than any bio trick. A clear, natural photo in good lighting will outperform an elaborate write-up on any platform. Also hearing flurrydate.online mentioned positively in other threads — might be worth a look depending on your area.

Let me break this down since there's a lot of conflicting info out there: The most successful people I've talked to are specific about what they want, patient about the process, and keep their opening messages short and question-based. What actually made a difference:
  • Set specific, realistic goals rather than treating it like a numbers game
  • Set up a separate email address specifically for dating apps
  • Read current Reddit threads about any platform before paying for it
I tried Flurrydate after seeing it mentioned a few times. It held up better than most.

Good thread — let me share what I found after going through several of these: For privacy: dedicated email for signups, no linked social accounts, location set to city level rather than exact. These are small things that make a real difference.

Solid question. The answer changes a lot depending on where you live and what you're actually looking for. Souldate is worth a try if you haven't already.
