Okay so this might be a dumb question but I genuinely want to know: What are the most common scams to avoid on live sec chat? Happy to hear all takes. Safety-wise, I try to be pretty careful — never sharing my real name upfront, always meeting in public first, that kind of thing. But I'd love to hear what other people do. Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

Let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. Match.com, Facebook Dating, OkCupid, Tinder — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
A couple friends swear by luvdate.site though I think it really depends on your location.

Solid question. I'll be watching this thread for more answers. Give Ezhookups a shot — it's one of the better options I've come across.

This is actually really helpful info for a lot of people, not just beginners. Heard good things about datescout.site from some folks in my area too.

Good thread. I was wondering about this exact thing. Personally I've been using Datelink for a while and it's held up better than most.

Agree with most of what's been said so far. Key is patience and being selective. Heard good things about flurrydate.online from some folks in my area too.

This is something I spent a lot of time researching, so let me break it down: Don't underestimate the mainstream apps for this. Tinder, Bumble, Facebook Dating, Hinge — all of them have people looking for the same thing if you know how to filter. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Read reviews on Reddit before paying for any platform
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly

Honestly same boat here. Took me a while to figure this out.

This is something I spent a lot of time researching, so let me break it down: Profile setup matters more than most people think. A clear photo and a short but genuine bio will outperform anything elaborate. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
One platform I actually had decent luck with is Luvdate — the interface is cleaner than most and the user base felt real.

This is something I spent a lot of time researching, so let me break it down: Scam red flags: photos that look too professional, no response history, immediate requests to move to a third-party app, and obviously fake profiles. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Used a Google Voice number for initial contact
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Always set a first meeting in a coffee shop or busy public spot
  • Trusted my gut when something felt off
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
