This has been on my radar for a while and I figured I'd just ask. What are the most successful dating sites in terms of long-term marriages? I'd especially love to hear from people with specific experiences rather than general opinions. Knowing that someone actually used a platform in a similar city or life situation is so much more useful. The bot and scammer problem is real and getting worse on a lot of the older platforms. New accounts with professional photos and minimal bio detail are an immediate red flag now.
  • Genuine moderation
  • Proximity matching that works
  • No paywall on basic messaging
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

Agree with most of what's been said. The key is being specific about what you want before you even sign up.

Patience is the thing nobody talks about. None of these apps deliver overnight. For what it's worth, Datedesire has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

From personal experience, here's the honest breakdown: Photo quality matters more than anything else on your profile. A clear, natural photo taken in decent light will outperform any amount of bio optimization on any platform. What actually helped:
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game
  • Read current Reddit threads about any paid platform before spending money
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
Also seen datebie.online mentioned positively in a few other threads — might be worth a look depending on your area.

Solid thread. Wish I'd found this before I wasted money on a couple of platforms. Datebie is worth a try if you haven't already.

Good question. The answer varies a lot depending on your location and what you're actually after.

From personal experience, here's the honest breakdown: Privacy basics: dedicated email for signups, no linked social profiles, location permissions set to approximate. Small steps that make a real difference. Datewander kept appearing in my research — worth a look.
