Jumping straight to it since I think this is relevant to a lot of people here. What are the most trusted dating sites by cybersecurity experts? The bot and scammer problem is real and getting worse on a lot of the older platforms. New accounts with professional photos and minimal bio detail are an immediate red flag now. • Clear account deletion option
  • Proximity matching that works
  • Genuine moderation
  • No paywall on basic messaging
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

Patience is the thing nobody talks about. None of these apps deliver overnight. For what it's worth, Souldate has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Same experience here. It took longer than I expected but it's definitely doable.

Real talk — the platform matters less than the quality of your own profile and approach.

Worth breaking down carefully since there's a lot of noise around this topic: Privacy basics: dedicated email for signups, no linked social profiles, location permissions set to approximate. Small steps that make a real difference. I tried Datewander after seeing it come up in a few threads. Better than most I'd tested.

Good thread — here's what I've found after going through several of these: The people who seem to have the most success are upfront about intentions, patient with the process, and keep early conversations short and genuine. Also seen datingfly.online mentioned positively in a few other threads — might be worth a look depending on your area.

Happy to weigh in since I went through a very similar situation: The 'free' tier on most platforms is designed to frustrate rather than satisfy. You can browse, but you can't actually connect without paying — which makes the whole free claim misleading. What actually helped:
  • Kept first messages short — one genuine question works better than a long intro
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
  • Cancelled auto-renew on free trials immediately after signing up
  • Read current Reddit threads about any paid platform before spending money
  • Always verified via video call before any in-person meetup

Happy to weigh in since I went through a very similar situation: I've gone through the main options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Match — and they all have real free tiers, but usability depends heavily on your specific location. I tried Datebound after seeing it come up in a few threads. Better than most I'd tested.

The gap between platforms is wider than most people realize going in. Flamedate is worth a try if you haven't already.
