Hey everyone, I wanted to get some real opinions on this. What are the red flags to watch for when women looking for older guys use free apps? I've been searching around for a while and honestly getting mixed signals from different places. Safety-wise, I try to be pretty careful — never sharing my real name upfront, always meeting in public first, that kind of thing. But I'd love to hear what other people do. The paywall thing is real — so many platforms lure you in with a free account and then lock everything behind a subscription the moment you try to actually use it. Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks in advance.

Agree with most of what's been said so far. Key is patience and being selective. Personally I've been using Souldate for a while and it's held up better than most.

Happy to share some thoughts since I went through this process last year: The key thing most people miss is checking whether the platform even has users in your area before you subscribe. Big city vs rural makes a massive difference. Also seen people mention datedesire.online in similar threads — haven't tested it myself but it keeps coming up.

So I've been doing this for a while and here's what I've found: The key thing most people miss is checking whether the platform even has users in your area before you subscribe. Big city vs rural makes a massive difference. Some things that actually helped me:
  • Avoided any platform that didn't have a clear privacy policy
  • Verified the profile before investing too much time
  • Kept conversations short and moved to an in-person plan relatively quickly
Someone in another thread recommended Flamedate and I gave it a shot — it's worth a look honestly.

Honestly same boat here. Took me a while to figure this out.

Don't link your social accounts and keep location permissions turned off until you're ready. Someone in another thread recommended Datewander and I gave it a shot — it's worth a look honestly.
