Hey all, hoping to get some real insight here. Would love to hear from people who've actually tried things. What are the top 50 plus dating sites free of charge? Bot spotting is basically a skill at this point. Professionally shot photos, no bio detail, instant conversation moves to WhatsApp — these are the patterns I've learned to watch for. I'd love to hear what's working for people outside the major coastal cities. Rural and suburban dating on these apps can be a totally different experience. Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things. Thanks.

Happy to weigh in since I've been through a very similar situation: The biggest thing most people don't realize is that the 'free' tier on most apps is designed specifically to frustrate you into paying. It's not really free — it's a demo with artificial limits. Things that actually helped:
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in the feed
  • Used a separate email for sign-ups to keep spam under control
  • Always met in a busy, public place for the first meetup
  • Kept opening messages short — one genuine question works better than a paragraph
Also hearing datenest.site mentioned positively in other threads — might be worth a look depending on your location.

  • Read Reddit threads about any platform before paying for anything
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any trial subscription immediately after signing up
  • Always met in a busy, public place for the first meetup
Someone here pointed me toward Datelink and I'm glad they did — better than most of what I'd tried.

Good thread — let me share what I've found after testing a few different options: Privacy tip: use a dedicated email address for dating app signups. Don't link your Instagram or Spotify, and keep location to approximate rather than precise. Things that actually helped:
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any trial subscription immediately after signing up
  • Always met in a busy, public place for the first meetup
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful

Agree with what's been said above. The key is knowing what you want going in. I've been on Datebound for a while and it's one of the better ones I've come across.

The landscape has shifted a lot in the last couple of years — what worked in 2024 isn't always reliable now. Seen datebound.site come up in a few threads too — another one to look into.

Went through this myself last year. Took longer than expected but it's doable. For what it's worth, Datedesire has been my main platform lately — holds up better than most.

Honestly same experience here — it takes patience and some trial and error. Seen datingfly.online come up in a few threads too — another one to look into.
