Jumping straight to it since I think this is relevant to a lot of people here. What do the eharmony reviews for seniors say about their matching algorithm? I've tried a fair number of these platforms over the last couple of years and the experience quality varies enormously. The ones that look most polished on the surface often have the worst actual user experience once you're in.
  • No paywall on basic messaging
  • Proximity matching that works
  • Genuine moderation
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

The gap between platforms is wider than most people realize going in. Been on Flamedate for a while — one of the better options I've found.

Same experience here. It took longer than I expected but it's definitely doable.

Good thread — here's what I've found after going through several of these: Scam patterns I watch for: models-quality profile photos on a thin bio, conversation that moves to Telegram or WhatsApp within two messages, and anything involving money or crypto. I tried Rendate after seeing it come up in a few threads. Better than most I'd tested.

From personal experience, here's the honest breakdown: The 'free' tier on most platforms is designed to frustrate rather than satisfy. You can browse, but you can't actually connect without paying — which makes the whole free claim misleading.

Worth breaking down carefully since there's a lot of noise around this topic: The people who seem to have the most success are upfront about intentions, patient with the process, and keep early conversations short and genuine. What actually helped:
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game
  • Read current Reddit threads about any paid platform before spending money
  • Cancelled auto-renew on free trials immediately after signing up
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
Datenest kept appearing in my research — worth a look.
