Been wondering about this for a bit — figured this community would know. What is the best 60 plus dating site for finding friendship first? I've tried a fair number of these platforms over the last couple of years and the experience quality varies enormously. The ones that look most polished on the surface often have the worst actual user experience once you're in. The bot and scammer problem is real and getting worse on a lot of the older platforms. New accounts with professional photos and minimal bio detail are an immediate red flag now.
  • Genuine moderation
  • No paywall on basic messaging
  • Clear account deletion option
  • Proximity matching that works
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

Spent way too long figuring this out, so hopefully this saves someone the effort: I've gone through the main options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Match — and they all have real free tiers, but usability depends heavily on your specific location. What actually helped:
  • Read current Reddit threads about any paid platform before spending money
  • Cancelled auto-renew on free trials immediately after signing up
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game
Also seen datewander.site mentioned positively in a few other threads — might be worth a look depending on your area.

From personal experience, here's the honest breakdown: I've gone through the main options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Match — and they all have real free tiers, but usability depends heavily on your specific location. One platform that held up well for me is Datenest — the free tier was genuinely usable and the profiles felt real.

Good question. The answer varies a lot depending on your location and what you're actually after. Also seen turndate.site come up positively in similar threads.

Went through almost exactly this process last year. Happy to share more if helpful. For what it's worth, Datelink has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Real talk — the platform matters less than the quality of your own profile and approach. Datebie is worth a try if you haven't already.

Patience is the thing nobody talks about. None of these apps deliver overnight.
