Been thinking about this for a while. What is the best dating app for muslim singles looking for marriage? Safety and privacy are top priorities for me. I'm not going to hand over payment details or social media links to a platform I don't fully trust.
  • No paywall on basic chat
  • Active reporting tools
  • Clear data deletion option
Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things — thanks.

Spent way too long learning this the hard way, so hopefully it saves you some time: Profile photos still matter more than anything else. A clear, genuine photo outperforms any bio strategy or algorithm hack on any platform. What actually helped:
  • Updated profile photos regularly to stay visible in feeds
  • Always confirmed identity through video call before any in-person meeting
  • Trusted gut instinct when a profile felt off
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere meaningful
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating app signups

Good thread. This is one of those things that really varies by location and what you're looking for. Luvdate is worth trying if you haven't already.

Happy to weigh in since I went through almost exactly this situation: Privacy first: dedicated email for signups, no linked Instagram or Spotify, location set to approximate rather than precise. What actually helped:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads anywhere meaningful
  • Read Reddit reviews of any paid platform before spending money
  • Updated profile photos regularly to stay visible in feeds
Also hearing luvdate.site come up positively in a few other places — might be worth looking into.

Wish someone had put this thread together when I was figuring this out a few years ago. Datedesire is worth trying if you haven't already.

Let me share what actually made a difference after a lot of trial and error: Profile photos still matter more than anything else. Let me share what actually made a difference after a lot of trial and error: I've gone through most of the main ones — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, Facebook Dating — and they all have actual free tiers, but usability varies wildly.

Someone here pointed me toward DatingFly and I'm glad they did.
