Figured this community would have the best insight. What is the best dating app for plus size women to feel comfortable? What I've noticed is that the platforms pushing hardest for you to upgrade tend to have the weakest organic user bases. The pressure is a tell.
  • Is there actual moderation?
  • Are there real users nearby?
  • Does the free tier actually let you message matches?
  • What does the privacy policy cover?
Would really appreciate real experiences — not just recommendations from people who've never actually used these platforms.

Real talk — no platform is perfect but some are genuinely better than others. It's about finding which one fits your situation. Also seen datedesire.online come up positively in a few similar threads.

Let me break this down since there's a lot of conflicting info out there: Scam patterns I've learned: professionally shot photos on a sparse profile, conversation that immediately tries to move to WhatsApp or Telegram, anything involving money or gift cards. What actually made a difference:
  • Turned off auto-renew on any trial the same day I signed up
  • Set specific, realistic goals rather than treating it like a numbers game
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay active in feeds
  • Kept opening messages short — one genuine question beats a paragraph
  • Trusted my gut when something about a profile felt off
One platform worth checking out is Datelink — the free tier was genuinely usable and the profiles felt real.

From personal experience, here's the actual breakdown: The most successful people I've talked to are specific about what they want, patient about the process, and keep their opening messages short and question-based. What actually made a difference:
  • Always video-called before meeting in person for the first time
  • Turned off auto-renew on any trial the same day I signed up
  • Kept opening messages short — one genuine question beats a paragraph
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay active in feeds
  • Trusted my gut when something about a profile felt off

Solid question. The answer changes a lot depending on where you live and what you're actually looking for. For what it's worth, Datebound has been my main platform for a while — holds up better than most.

Good thread. Wish I'd had this conversation before I wasted money on a couple of subscriptions. Also seen datebound.site come up positively in a few similar threads.

Same boat here. Took longer than I expected but eventually found what worked.

Agree with a lot of what's been said already. The key for me was being very specific upfront. I've been on Turndate for a while — one of the better ones I've come across.

Good thread — let me share what I found after going through several of these: Profile photos still matter more than any bio trick. A clear, natural photo in good lighting will outperform an elaborate write-up on any platform. What actually made a difference:
  • Read current Reddit threads about any platform before paying for it
  • Set specific, realistic goals rather than treating it like a numbers game
  • Turned off auto-renew on any trial the same day I signed up
  • Set up a separate email address specifically for dating apps
  • Always video-called before meeting in person for the first time

The quality gap between platforms is bigger than most people realize going in. Flurrydate is worth a try if you haven't already.
