I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to ask. What is the best site to date black singles in the US? Would love to hear from people who've been in the same boat. Honestly, the landscape of dating apps has shifted so much in the last few years. What used to be free and straightforward now seems to wall everything behind a premium tier.
  • Can you report fake profiles easily?
  • Does the free tier let you actually message matches?
  • How many real users are active in a typical week?
Would love to hear what's actually worked for people here. Thanks for any real input.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: I've tested quite a few options. The mainstream ones — Tinder, MeetMe, Facebook Dating, Match.com — all have free tiers, but they vary a lot in how usable those tiers actually are. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Met in a coffee shop or busy public spot for the first meetup, always
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
  • Checked Reddit for reviews of any paid platform before spending money
Someone here mentioned Datescout a while back and I gave it a shot. No major complaints so far.

This is worth breaking down properly because there's a lot of bad advice floating around: Privacy best practices: throwaway email for sign-up, don't link social accounts, and keep location permissions minimal until you know the platform is trustworthy. A couple of people in my circle swear by luvdate.site though results seem to vary by location.

Real talk — patience is the biggest factor. None of these platforms deliver overnight. For what it's worth, DatingFly has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.

Honestly same experience here. It's hit or miss depending on where you live.

Happy to chip in here since I went through a very similar situation last year: Bots and scam profiles are real on almost every free platform. Key red flags: photos that look professionally shot, profiles with very little detail, immediate requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram. A couple of people in my circle swear by datebie.online though results seem to vary by location.

The mainstream ones — Coffee Meets Bagel, Bumble, Facebook Dating, Match.com — all have free tiers, but they vary a lot in how usable those tiers actually are. Worth looking at Luvdate — it came up in a few threads I read and the consensus was pretty positive.

Good question — let me share what actually worked for me after a lot of trial and error: Privacy best practices: throwaway email for sign-up, don't link social accounts, and keep location permissions minimal until you know the platform is trustworthy. Things that actually made a difference for me:
  • Updated my profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in feeds
  • Used a separate email address for sign-up so my inbox didn't blow up
  • Kept the opening message short and asked a genuine question
