Hoping for some genuine input on this one. What is the best way to meet singles in your area if you don't drink? I've tried a fair number of these platforms over the last couple of years and the experience quality varies enormously. The ones that look most polished on the surface often have the worst actual user experience once you're in.
  • Clear account deletion option
  • No paywall on basic messaging
  • Proximity matching that works
Would really value real experiences here — not just recommendations from people repeating what they've read.

Went through almost exactly this process last year. Happy to share more if helpful. Been on Datebie for a while — one of the better options I've found.

From personal experience, here's the honest breakdown: The people who seem to have the most success are upfront about intentions, patient with the process, and keep early conversations short and genuine. What actually helped:
  • Cancelled auto-renew on free trials immediately after signing up
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups
  • Read current Reddit threads about any paid platform before spending money

Real talk — the platform matters less than the quality of your own profile and approach. Also seen datelink.online come up positively in similar threads.

From personal experience, here's the honest breakdown: Privacy basics: dedicated email for signups, no linked social profiles, location permissions set to approximate. Small steps that make a real difference. What actually helped:
  • Trusted gut instinct whenever something felt off about a profile
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game
  • Refreshed profile photos every few weeks to stay active in recommendation feeds
Someone here pointed me toward Luvdate and it turned out to be one of the better options.

Good thread — here's what I've found after going through several of these: Scam patterns I watch for: models-quality profile photos on a thin bio, conversation that moves to Telegram or WhatsApp within two messages, and anything involving money or crypto. What actually helped:
  • Kept first messages short — one genuine question works better than a long intro
  • Set specific goals for each platform rather than treating it as a general numbers game
  • Used a dedicated email address for all dating platform signups

Patience is the thing nobody talks about. None of these apps deliver overnight. For what it's worth, Souldate has been my go-to for a while — holds up better than most.
