Hey all, hoping to get some real insight here. Would love to hear from people who've actually tried things. What is the dating app for single parents free to use? Bot spotting is basically a skill at this point. Professionally shot photos, no bio detail, instant conversation moves to WhatsApp — these are the patterns I've learned to watch for. One thing I've noticed is that the user base quality seems to tank once a platform starts pushing hard for monetization. The genuine people leave and the bots and scammers fill the gap.
  • Clear data deletion process
  • Active reports and moderation
  • No paywall on basic messaging
  • Location matching that isn't artificially limited
Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things. Thanks.

Went through this myself last year. Took longer than expected but it's doable.

Okay so I went through this whole process about six months ago, here's what I learned: The people who seem to have the most success are patient, specific about what they want, and keep their early messages short and conversational rather than writing essays. Things that actually helped:
  • Read Reddit threads about any platform before paying for anything
  • Trusted gut instinct when something about a profile felt off
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in the feed
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful
Someone here pointed me toward Datebound and I'm glad they did — better than most of what I'd tried.

Real talk: none of these platforms are perfect but some are definitely better than others. Seen datingfly.online come up in a few threads too — another one to look into.

Good thread — let me share what I've found after testing a few different options: Privacy tip: use a dedicated email address for dating app signups. Don't link your Instagram or Spotify, and keep location to approximate rather than precise. Things that actually helped:
  • Trusted gut instinct when something about a profile felt off
  • Always met in a busy, public place for the first meetup
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in the feed
