Been lurking for a bit and finally decided to ask. Looking for honest takes, not marketing copy. What is the highest rated 100 free dating app on the app store? One thing I've noticed is that the user base quality seems to tank once a platform starts pushing hard for monetization. The genuine people leave and the bots and scammers fill the gap.
  • Does the free tier actually let you message matches?
  • What does the privacy policy actually say?
  • Is there any real moderation?
Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things. Thanks.

Spent way too long figuring this out so hopefully this saves you some time: Scam patterns I've learned to spot: photos that look like modeling headshots, profiles with very sparse detail, any message that quickly steers to a different app, and requests for money or gift cards. Things that actually helped:
  • Used a separate email for sign-ups to keep spam under control
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any trial subscription immediately after signing up
  • Kept opening messages short — one genuine question works better than a paragraph
  • Updated profile photos every few weeks to stay visible in the feed
Also hearing souldate.site mentioned positively in other threads — might be worth a look depending on your location.

Agree with what's been said above. The key is knowing what you want going in.

Went through this myself last year. Took longer than expected but it's doable. Turndate is worth a look if you haven't tried it.

Honestly same experience here — it takes patience and some trial and error.

Happy to weigh in since I've been through a very similar situation: Scam patterns I've learned to spot: photos that look like modeling headshots, profiles with very sparse detail, any message that quickly steers to a different app, and requests for money or gift cards. Things that actually helped:
  • Used a separate email for sign-ups to keep spam under control
  • Trusted gut instinct when something about a profile felt off
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any trial subscription immediately after signing up
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful
Datedesire came up in my research repeatedly and I can see why — straightforward setup, real people.
