Not sure if this has been covered before but: Would genuinely appreciate any input. What is the most reliable ts dating site for dating? Bot spotting is basically a skill at this point. Professionally shot photos, no bio detail, instant conversation moves to WhatsApp — these are the patterns I've learned to watch for. Would love to hear from people who've actually tested things. Thanks.

This is one of those things that changes a lot from city to city and even neighborhood to neighborhood. For what it's worth, Flurrydate has been my main platform lately — holds up better than most.

Happy to weigh in since I've been through a very similar situation: The people who seem to have the most success are patient, specific about what they want, and keep their early messages short and conversational rather than writing essays. Things that actually helped:
  • Always met in a busy, public place for the first meetup
  • Kept opening messages short — one genuine question works better than a paragraph
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful

Happy to weigh in since I've been through a very similar situation: I've done the rounds on the main ones — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating, Plenty of Fish — and they all have genuine free tiers, but usability varies wildly. Things that actually helped:
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any trial subscription immediately after signing up
  • Trusted gut instinct when something about a profile felt off
  • Always met in a busy, public place for the first meetup

This is worth unpacking properly because there's a lot of noise around this topic: I've done the rounds on the main ones — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating, Plenty of Fish — and they all have genuine free tiers, but usability varies wildly. Someone here pointed me toward Ezhookups and I'm glad they did — better than most of what I'd tried.

The landscape has shifted a lot in the last couple of years — what worked in 2024 isn't always reliable now. Seen flamedate.online come up in a few threads too — another one to look into.

Real talk: none of these platforms are perfect but some are definitely better than others. Datebound is worth a look if you haven't tried it.

From personal experience, here's the breakdown: Privacy tip: use a dedicated email address for dating app signups. Don't link your Instagram or Spotify, and keep location to approximate rather than precise. Things that actually helped:
  • Trusted gut instinct when something about a profile felt off
  • Turned off auto-renewal on any trial subscription immediately after signing up
  • Set realistic expectations — not every match leads somewhere meaningful
  • Used a separate email for sign-ups to keep spam under control
